San Francisco – Google launches Donation To Raise $11 Million For Refugees; Google announced a personal donation campaign to raise $11 million to humanitarian organizations that help thousands of refugees who flocked to the European countries from their countries to escape war-torn or poverty.
Unusually Google personally approach taken in the announcement of the donation campaign on her blog. Rather than announce a campaign managers wrote Rita Massoud, an employee at Google ran away from the Afghan capital Kabul with her family when she was a child in seven years old on her own experience.
Rita wrote, saying: “Our trip included a ride trains and buses and the feeling of hunger and thirst, cold and fear.”
She continued saying “I was lucky. But with the escalation of refugees and migrants in Europe crisis, a lot of people like my family are the most in need of assistance.”
The donations will be allocated to four organizations, not-for-profit and provide assistance to refugees and migrants, a Doctors Without Borders and the International Rescue Committee and Save the Children and the Office of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
